Attendance

Children benefit greatly from coming to nursery regularly to build relationships with their friends and their teachers; it is very important that your child attends school every day and arrives on times. Our sessions begin at 8:30am for our 2-3 year-old children and 8:45am for the morning sessions and 12:30pm for the sessions for our 3-4 year-old children.

If children are absent, they can miss out on a number of learning experiences; this can make them feel unsettled when they return to nursery.

We monitor attendance closely and aim for 90% attendance rates. We work with our families to help solve any attendance issues they may have, so please speak to a member of staff should you have any worries or concerns. If your child is unwell or unable to attend school, we ask that you contact us to let us know why they are not coming to nursery that day. If your child is absent and we do not know why, we will contact you to find out the reason.

All children like routine; it helps them feel safe and secure. Good attendance at nursery gives your child that safe routine helps them develop a rhythm for the week and prepares them for the future routine of Primary School.
