Welcome to Cleator Moor Nursery School. This school website is intended to give you a clear picture of life at our Nursery School. I hope you will find it informative and very useful to refer to while your child is with us.
The Nursery was purpose built and opened in 1971. Over the years it has provided young children from Cleator Moor and the surrounding area with an excellent beginning to their school life. In 2001 our Nursery was awarded Beacon status having been identified as amongst the best performing schools in the country.
In 2002 we received a second outstanding OFSTED report; in 2003 we gained a School Achievement Award. Early in 2005 we were placed on OFSTED’s Honours List in recognition of our two outstanding OFSTED reports. In November 2006 we achieved National Healthy School Status; this confirmed the high value we put on this area of the curriculum.
In April 2007 we had our third Ofsted inspection recognising us yet again as an “outstanding school.” More recently, we have just received our fourth “outstanding” Ofsted inspection; a very rare achievement which we are very proud of.
Here at Cleator Moor Nursery, we believe in giving all the children the best possible start to their school life. Essentially, this is done by providing a safe, happy and friendly environment for the children.
You are always welcome to pop-in and see what we do. The best way to see the Nursery is by visiting us and spending some time in the class seeing the children at work and play.
